How an SGLN is created?

An SGLN is made from the GLN using three elements:

1. GCP

2. Location Reference (assigned by the organisation which in this case would be manufacturers/importers)

3. GLN Extension (assigned by the organisation)

Please note that the GLN is always 13 characters but the last character is a check digit and should not be taken into consideration when translating into a SGLN.

We should not be managing the structure of the SGLN but be given it by the manufacturer/importer.
