What is GLN?
The GLN is the GS1 Identification Key used for any location (physical, operational, or legal) that needs to be identified for use in the supply chain. The GLN is a globally unique number that can be used to access master data about a location. GLNs are designed to improve the efficiency of communication with trading partners - i.e. senders and receivers of information.

Why GLN?
Every EPCIS event (which is hugely relevant for the full aggregation environment) that is sent and recorded MUST have a sender identifier(GLN) and a receiver identifier(GLN). These identifiers form part of the message format that gets sent.
As part of the requirements for DTS, NBR is required to either already have, or if not then request a GLN from GS1.
